Roger S. Haddon, Jr., is President and Chief
Executive Officer of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation. He represents the third
generation of his family in management of the company that operates Newsradio
1070 WKOK, 94KX, 100.9 The Valley, TalkRadio 1380 WMLP and Eagle 107.
Mr. Haddon began his career as an announcer on WKOK in 1983. Since then he
has worked for some of the Mid-Atlantic region’s most successful broadcast
companies including Keymarket Communications, Delmarva Broadcasting and
Tele-Media. He returned to Sunbury in 1996 and was instrumental in the
creation of the area’s first all-news radio station, Newsradio 1070 WKOK. WKOK
has been recognized annually by the Associated Press and Pennsylvania
Association of Broadcasters as one of the state’s top all-news radio stations.
In 1999, the Central Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce named Sunbury
Broadcasting Corporation its “Small Business of the Year.”
Mr. Haddon is a member of Arbitron's Radio Advisory Council. Arbitron
is the publicly traded company that provides ratings to the entire radio
industry.
He is a graduate of Elizabethtown College, and has since been recognized by
the college’s alumni board for excellence in professional achievement.
Mr. Haddon currently serves on Elizabethtown College's Leadership Council to
The Board of Trustees.
Mr. Haddon contributes his time to many civic boards including Evangelical
Community Hospital, The Central Susquehanna Community Foundation, The Greater
Susquehanna Valley United Way, Economics Pennsylvania and Geisinger Health
System's Advisory Council. In 2003, Mr. Haddon received Sunbury’s “Citizen of
The Year” award from American Legion Post 201. In 2004, Haddon was chairman of
Susquehanna University’s successful Business and Industry campaign. He is a
member of Susquehanna’s Weis Partners as well as the Sunbury Rotary Club. Mr.
Haddon's community involvement and service was recognized in 2004 by the
Susquehanna Council of Boy Scouts of America with the Community Leadership
Award
Born in Sunbury, he currently resides in Selinsgrove with his wife, Denise,
and their children, Sam, Jillian and Blake.
