SELINSGROVE — A gift card drive is underway to help families hit hard by delayed SNAP benefits during the US government shutdown.
The Union Snyder Community Action Agency says a court order requires partial SNAP payments in the future, but disbursements could be delayed several weeks or longer. So, they’re urging public donations of $25 grocery gift cards to assist families facing food insecurity.
Cards can be dropped off at the CAA office on Bridge Street in Selinsgrove or at the Food Hub at the Miller Center in Lewisburg. Organizers say online donations marked “Food Assistance” can be made at www.union-snydercaa.org or by calling 570-374-0181.
