ALLENTOWN — The PPL Foundation has announced $100,000 in emergency funding to help address growing food insecurity across eastern and central Pennsylvania. Foundation president Lissette Santana says the effort supports more than 60 nonprofits working to close gaps in food access for vulnerable residents.
The funding will help keep food pantries stocked and distribute assistance efficiently to those in need. Central Pennsylvania Food Bank CEO Shila Ulrich says the support comes at a crucial time, offering “not just nourishment, but hope” as many face uncertainty with SNAP benefits.
