DANVILLE – Recruiters from Milton Hershey School are visiting the region again to highlight the education and life-changing opportunities offered at their free school for children and teens.
At the Montour County Commissioners meeting , Stacey Spangenburg, a regional admissions recruiter, said for the right student, it can be a launchpad into adulthood, “We are a school of opportunity for students from lower income households, and when I say students, promising students, who have good character, average academic abilities who are looking for opportunities to better their lives. And get a wonderful education and get exposed to extracurricular activities.”
Montour County Commissioner Trevor Finn said he’s encouraging all area residents to think of a young person who could benefit from the school. Spangenburg said recruiters and staff from Milton Hershey School will be back in the region soon with their message of opportunity for everyone, “We would love for folks to come out to our dinner information session. It’s going to be at the Washington Fire Hall here in Danville, at six o’clock pm.”
She said students receive a supervised, rigorous, well-rounded education filled with athletics and extracurriculars. She said they graduate with opportunities, a driver’s license, and connections to colleges and universities around the world. Spangenburg encouraged parents to visit www.mhskids.org.
