HARRISBURG — State officials say new budget investments will strengthen Pennsylvania’s child care workforce and expand access for families. The legislature passed, and the governor signed, a budget that includes a $25 million program that gives $450 bonuses to Child Care Works employees.
Authorities say the funding will support about 55,000 workers starting in early 2026. They say the effort aims to recruit and retain staff so more parents can stay in the workforce. The state says high-quality child care helps children grow and thrive, and the new bonuses will support providers across the state and improve access to care.
