WASHINGTON — In Washington, US Senator John Fetterman says showing identification to vote is not unreasonable, but he does not support the SAVE America Act. The Pennsylvania Democrat tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette his weekend comments were taken out of context.
Sen. Fetterman says proposals limiting mail-in registration are a “nonstarter” for him. He adds the bill, which requires proof of citizenship and photo ID, is unlikely to reach 60 votes in the Senate. McCormick voices support for the legislation and highlights polls showing broad backing for voter ID.
