The Daily Item reports Mifflinburg Police Chief Jeffrey Hackenburg has submitted his resignation to borough council. Hackenburg will end his time with the borough on Friday according to the newspaper. They report Hackenburg has accepted a part time job as a public safety specialist with Lexipol consulting on a pilot program to pitch new products to first responders. Hackenburg was just reappointed chief in January with a 5 percent raise, prior to his resignation announcement.
