PennDOT Prepares For Winter Storm Sunday
MONTOURSVILLE — PennDOT is urging drivers across north central Pennsylvania to limit travel as a winter storm moves in late Sunday. Officials say crews will begin pre-treating major routes Saturday and Sunday across Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, and Union counties.
PennDOT says anti-icing with salt brine helps prevent ice from bonding to pavement early in a storm. Roads may remain snow-covered while precipitation is falling, and bridges and ramps can ice over quickly. Drivers can check conditions at 511PA.com or by calling 5-1-1.
