A Child Safety Awareness Meeting is planned for Saturday March 7th at the Snyder County Produce Auction. The event is sponsored by the Port Trevorton and Fremont Fire Departments in cooperation with Snyder County Children and Youth, Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, the Penn State Extention, State Police, Snyder County EMA and more. The gathering begins at 9:30 with safety topics from various agencies including smoke alarms and fire safety, distracted driving, child safety seats and more. There will be various safety demos from 10:30 to 11:30 and live demonstrations by the fire departments at 12:30. A light lunch will also be served. Activities are for all ages and the event is free to the public.
