MAHONING TOWNSHIP — A bizarre theft at Danville State Hospital ended with stolen jewelry being swallowed by a suspect. WOLF-TV reports, troopers responded to the hospital after a 56-year-old employee reported being assaulted. They say a patient forcibly took a necklace from her neck and then swallowed it.
Police describe the jewelry as a round pendant with diamonds and sapphires valued at about $1,000. Authorities classify the case as a robbery involving force, and no injuries are detailed. Charges are expected following consultation with the Montour County District Attorney’s Office. The name of the patient is not disclosed, pending charges.
