GIRARDVILLE — A multi-alarm fire damaged four connected homes in Girardville afternoon. Skook News is reporting… Crews were dispatched around 1pm to West Mahanoy Avenue, where the first arriving chief reported heavy smoke and requested a second alarm.
Firefighters battled flames for more than two hours before bringing the blaze under control at 3:24pm. Officials say all four row homes sustained heavy damage. Three people inside escaped safely, but several dogs died in the fire. A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause.
