LEWISBURG — A Soroptimist group around here is having an important walk soon. In Lewisburg, Soroptimist International of Snyder, Union, and Northumberland Counties will host a Walk for Women on from 1pm to 4pm at Piers Art Park. Organizers say the event recognizes Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.
The group says the walk raises awareness and funds for education and training programs promoting economic empowerment for women and girls. Organizers say the local club is part of a global nonprofit focused on helping women achieve financial independence.
The organization meets monthly, hosts fundraisers supporting its Dream Programs, and welcomes new members. Community members can learn more or get involved by contacting the group through Facebook.
