WILLIAMSPORT — Hundreds of nonprofits across the region are preparing for the annual Raise the Region giving event. Organizers say the online fundraiser supports community organizations across several central Pennsylvania counties.
First Community Foundation Partnership reports that more than 340 nonprofits will participate this year. The event runs from 6pm March 11 through 11:59pm March 12. Donations will be boosted by a $175,000 stretch fund from Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships.
Organizers say nonprofits can also compete for more than $125,000 in bonus prizes. Since launching in 2013, Raise the Region has raised more than $21 million for local nonprofits. Donors can give online at raisetheregion.org.
