DANVILLE — A Danville restaurant will be closed for several days after a brief but smoky kitchen fire morning. Fire Chief Joe Miller said the incident happened around 10am at Fu Star Chinese on Northumberland Street.
Miller said a worker placed a cardboard box on a hot surface and it ignited. Employees activated a fire suppression system until firefighters arrived. Crews from the Danville Fire Department checked the building and ventilated the restaurant. East End and Elysburg fire companies assisted at the scene.
Officials said the fire caused no damage to the kitchen. The restaurant will be closed for several days while crews clean smoke residue.
