MILTON — A garage fire in Milton sent thick black smoke into the sky early morning. The Standard-Journal reports the fire broke out just after 6:30am behind a home on Locust Street, where crews found the structure fully engulfed. Fire officials say no vehicles were inside and no injuries were reported.
They say firefighters used a defensive strategy to contain the blaze and protect nearby structures. Authorities say portions of Locust Street and Academy Avenue were closed during the response. A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause.
