KREAMER — A fire inside a dust collection system at Wood-Mode LLC in Kreamer is under investigation after crews responded afternoon. Daily Item: Fire Chief Shannon Moyer says a hot ash or ember was detected shortly after 2pm, triggering sprinklers that contained the fire.
Moyer says employees were evacuated before firefighters arrived and no injuries were reported. About 30 firefighters from multiple departments assisted at the scene, along with fire police.
Officials say the scene was cleared around 4:18pm, and a state police fire marshal has been notified. Wood-Mode maintenance staff are working to determine the cause and assess damage.
