MIFFLINBURG — Multiple brush fires kept firefighters busy evening, stretching resources across several townships. The
Mifflinburg Hose Company says crews responded to three separate incidents within a short time.
Firefighters first assisted in Fremont, in Snyder County, around 5pm, where multiple agencies were already working several brush fires. Crews stood by before helping with mop-up operations, remaining on scene for about three hours.
Just after 6pm, crews responded to West Buffalo Township, Union County, for a brush fire sparked by downed power lines. Firefighters quickly contained the fire using a booster line while additional units assisted on scene.
Around 7:30pm, crews were dispatched to Jackson Township for another brush fire, where officials say about one acre burned before being contained.
