LEWISBURG — The Standard Journal is reporting, the Union County commissioners have approved some tax-exempt financing that will help pay for a Bucknell University expansion. Bucknell officials say the project would increase enrollment by about 250 students.
The university told the commissioners, the plan includes new residence halls, a dining facility, and an expanded Holmes Hall. They said about $145 million of the nearly $200 million project will be debt-funded, with completion targeted by fall 2029. Officials say the authority approval carries no financial obligation for the county.
