SUNBURY — ‘No child left inside’ is the mindset behind one summer camp around here. Organizers say the HERYN youth kayaking and fishing program is nearly full for sessions running through . The program is centered at the Central PA Wesleyan Campground near New Columbia.
John Zaktansky, the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper says HERYN stands for Helping Engage our River’s Youth Naturally. Organizers say the free program is open to children ages 8 to 13 and focuses on outdoor education through kayaking and fishing.
He also says donations are encouraged to help cover costs such as food, insurance, equipment, and bait. Only a few spots remain. Full information at middlesusquehannariverkeeper.org.
