SUNBURY — Shikellamy School District has received a major grant to expand student opportunities beyond the school day. The district was awarded a $456,000 BOOST grant for after-school and youth programming.
State officials said the funding supported structured activities designed to keep at-risk students engaged and safe. The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency said programs included mentoring, summer enrichment, and skill-building opportunities.
Officials said the grants were part of a broader effort to reduce violence and strengthen communities across Pennsylvania. The funding was administered through statewide safety and prevention initiatives.
