SHAMOKIN — An early morning fire destroyed a home on North Orange Street in Shamokin . The News Item reports crews responded around 3:45am. Fire Chief Lester Yohe tells the newspaper, flames spread quickly to the second floor.
Officials say a propane cylinder vented, fueling the fire, and parts of the home collapsed. Nearby homes were protected, and no injuries were reported. The fire was under control by 5:54am. Investigators are still working to determine the cause.
