HARRISBURG — A major state investment is flowing into local industry, with some funds headed to The Valley. DCED says more than $267 million is being awarded through the RISE PA program to cut emissions, lower energy costs, and support jobs.
State officials say 31 projects will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save businesses more than $3 million annually. In our area, funding supports solar installations, efficiency upgrades, and new energy systems. Regional RISE PA grant recipients include:
— Sekisui Polymer Innovations in Columbia County, $2.1 million for a solar system.
— Wheeland Lumber in Lycoming County, $3.7 million for a biomass boiler.
— Muncy Homes in Lycoming County, $564,000 for solar and lighting upgrades.
— Furmano Foods, Northumberland County, $2.6 million for solar and efficiency improvements.
— A&L Wood in Snyder County, $1.2 million for a ground-mounted solar system.
