DANVILLE — A local leader is speaking out following disturbing national reports on organized sexual violence.
Mae-Ling Kranz, CEO of Transitions of PA, says the national coverage reflects issues impacting local communities. She says there’s been a sharp rise in demand for their services, with hotline calls up more than 40 percent this year.
Kranz says partner violence is rooted in power and control and the number of cases are growing. She says the cases are no longer isolated incidents. Kranz says survivors often face barriers to reporting, including fear, stigma, and safety concerns.
She emphasizes the need for community awareness, support systems, and continued resources to address growing needs. There’s more information at transitionsofpa.org.
