HARRISBURG — Governor Josh Shapiro and State Treasurer Stacy Garrity officially secured their party’s nominations for Pennsylvania governor . Both were unopposed in their respective primaries.
Shapiro won election as governor in 2022 after defeating Doug Mastriano. Garrity is serving her second term as state treasurer after victories in 2020 and 2024.
The November race is expected to draw national attention, with both candidates already focusing heavily on President Donald Trump and the state’s economic direction.
Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis and Republican attorney Jason Richey also secured nominations for lieutenant governor.
Gov. Shapiro and Lt. Gov. Davis said they are seeking another term focused on economic growth, education funding, public safety, and protecting democracy.
Meantime, Republicans say their campaign will focus on taxes, government spending, and economic issues facing working families.
