DELAWARE TOWNSHIP — PennDOT says a bridge repair project will close part of Eighth Street in Northumberland County starting Wednesday. The bridge carries Eighth Street over Interstate 180 in Delaware Township. Eighth Street will be closed between Susquehanna Trail and Route 44.
Crews will replace a beam damaged in a bridge strike last year. PennDOT says the project also includes protective coating and road resurfacing. A detour using Susquehanna Trail and Route 44 will be in place through August. The $639,000 project is expected to be completed in September.
