SUNBURY — The bridges between Sunbury and Northumberland are open again after a recent detour for bridge work.
A project manager says the work is complete, and the detour around the Priestley and Edison bridges has been lifted. Crews had been working on new bridge surface coating, line painting, signage and related improvements.
Drivers who use the Sunbury-to-Northumberland connection should now be able to return to their normal route. The reopening wraps up the latest round of bridge improvements in that busy corridor.
The detour or soundbound Route 11 traffic led to hours of delays for motorists during peak travel periods.
