Some local volunteers are setting up cooling centers. Many senior centers and libraries are emphasizing, they are open daily.
The Thomas Beaver Free Library in Danville says anyone who needs a cool place to spend time this week is welcome to come just hang out at the library. Library officials say people are welcome to come in, cool down and stay safe during the heat.
In Bloomsburg, the fire department will also open a cooling center through . The cooling center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the department’s social hall at 911 Market Street. Visitors should enter from the 9th Street side, and cold water and games will be available.
