MOUNT CARMEL — Two men were taken into federal immigration custody following a traffic stop evening along the Merriam Highway. Mount Carmel Police say officers stopped a gray Ram 2500 around 5:20 p.m. for lane violations and identified the occupants as 49-year-old Davit Kedelashvili and 41-year-old Mikheil Chikhladze.
Police say officers contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and were told both men were unlawfully present in the United States. Chikhladze received a written warning for the lane violation, and police say both men were taken into custody and transferred to ICE.
