DANVILLE — A Florida man allegedly tried collecting $42,000 from a Montour County woman targeted in a refund scam. State police say 38-year-old Todd Freeman arrived at her Liberty Township home .
The woman received an email claiming Geek Squad planned to charge her $422. A caller then manipulated her bank account and demanded cash.
Troopers watched Freeman’s rented vehicle repeatedly pass the woman’s home before attempting a traffic stop. Police say Freeman fled before being captured in West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County.
Freeman faces corrupt organizations, financial exploitation, theft and fleeing charges. He posted $150,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled .
