NEW COLUMBIA — Two Union County roads reopened Tuesday following bridge replacement projects in White Deer and Limestone townships. Drivers can now follow normal traffic patterns, although guide rail installation will continue during the next several weeks.
New Columbia Road reopened after crews installed a concrete box culvert near Millers Bottom Road. PennDOT says the $700,000 project also included paving, pipe replacements, stream work, and improvements to the bridge approaches.
Tower Road also reopened in Limestone Township after PennDOT crews replaced a bridge over Turkey Run. The Tower Road project included excavation, paving, line painting and replacement of the former bridge with a box culvert.
