SHAMOKIN DAM — Shamokin Dam began producing safe water again Tuesday night, but emergency restrictions remain in effect. Mayor Donald Musser says production continues at a reduced rate.
The borough’s reservoir remains critically low following heavy sediment problems in the Susquehanna River. Officials say conservation is still necessary to protect water for essential uses.
Outdoor watering remains prohibited until further notice. Residents also cannot wash vehicles, driveways or sidewalks.
The current water supply remains safe for drinking and other essential needs. Borough officials ask residents to continue limiting all non-essential indoor and outdoor water use.
