MECHANICSBURG — Pennsylvania American Water customers are now paying higher water rates around here following approval by state utility regulators. The new rates took effect last Thursday and the water company says the funding will support about $1.2 billion in improvements.
In a letter to customers, PA American Water says a typical residential water bill will increase about $3 monthly. The utility says it is also expanding its assistance for customers who have over-due balances. They say they have more information available at pennsylvaniaamwater.com.
