HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania voters chose to retain all three Democratic justices on the state Supreme Court, rejecting a Republican push to oust them in ’s election.
The Associated Press reports that Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht easily won new 10-year terms. Their decisions over the past decade have included rulings on clean air and water rights, reproductive health care, and redistricting.
Donohue says the outcome shows voters trust in the court’s independence. Wecht says he’s grateful for their confidence and pledged continued dedication. The retention campaign was among the most expensive in US history, with more than $19 million spent by candidates and outside groups.
