Driver Arrested After Crash Knocks Down Traffic Pole
BERWICK — A suspected drunk driver crashed into a traffic signal pole early Saturday in Berwick. The Press Enterprise reports that the crash happened around 5:30am where West Front, LaSalle, and West Second streets meet. Police say the car struck the metal pole head-on.
Berwick police say the impact knocked the signal pole from its base. Officers say the unidentified driver was able to exit the car. Authorities say police arrested the driver at the scene. PennDOT crews later installed temporary stop signs while the roadway was cleared.
