WILLIAMSPORT — Hundreds of nonprofits will rally community support as Raise the Region begins this evening. The 30-hour online fundraiser starts at 6pm and continues until 11:59pm .
The First Community Foundation Partnership says 344 nonprofits across this region are participating. Donations at RaiseTheRegion.org are boosted by $175,000 in bonus funds from Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships.
Additional prize money totaling more than $125,000 is available through corporate sponsors. Since the event began in 2013, donors have contributed more than $21 million.
Officials say the effort helps strengthen nonprofits serving communities throughout the region. More information is available at RaiseTheRegion.org or by calling 570-321-1500.
