WILLIAMSPORT — A Lancaster engineering firm is asking a federal judge to impose sanctions in a dispute tied to a cancelled plastics recycling project. PennLive reports the request was filed in US Middle District Court.
Rettew Associates claims attorneys for Encina Development Group prolonged the case without good faith. The dispute involved unpaid engineering invoices totaling more than $225,000.
Court records show the companies resolved the payment dispute in January through a consent judgment. Rettew ultimately received about $492,000. The case stems from the proposed $1.1 billion plastics recycling facility in Point Township. The project, backed by, and on land owned by, DRIVE, faced significant community opposition.
