MIFFLINBURG — The Daily Item reports…A Centre County man is facing charges after a controlled firearm sale investigation near Mifflinburg. State police say 28-year-old Shaun Arthur of Spring Mills was arrested following the operation.
Troopers say the investigation involved arranging the purchase of a shotgun during a planned meeting at a hotel. Police say Arthur was stopped in West Buffalo Township, where the firearm was found in his vehicle.
The Daily Item reports that the shotgun had an altered serial number and was seized. Police say Arthur admitted knowing about the alteration and faces felony charges, with a preliminary hearing scheduled later this month.
