WILLIAMSPORT — A Bucknell University fraternity is facing a federal civil lawsuit over alleged underage drinking. PennLive reports Ella Cheatham claims alcohol was provided to her then boyfriend, leading to injuries in 2024.
The suit says Luca Dowdall, a Chi Phi member under 21, struck Cheatham while intoxicated, causing a concussion. It also alleges a later fall along St. Catherine Street led to another concussion and ongoing medical issues requiring surgery.
Cheatham accuses the fraternity of negligence and two adults of providing alcohol. The lawsuit seeks more than $75,000 in damages, and Bucknell is not named as a defendant.
