SUNBURY — Sunbury’s frontier past comes alive thanks to the story of one woman’s journey during the city’s earliest years. The presentation will explore life between 1772 and 1777 through personal experience.
Hope Webster Kopf will share the story of Violet Laferty Crist, who left Philadelphia for Sunbury. She says the account reflects hardships, settlement, and early community-building on the frontier.
The program begins at 2pm at the Degenstein Community Library and runs until about 3:15pm. It is part of the John Moore History Buffs series, supporting PA Forward civic literacy efforts. More info at degensteinlibrary.com.
