The Daily Item reports a sexual assault trial set to begin Tuesday was postponed. 46-year-old Michael Bishop was set for trial on Tuesday in Sunbury but it was continued at the last minute due to several issues according to Northumberland County court officials. The newspaper reports Bishop is charged by state police with sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl while she was sleeping between June of 2019 and February of 2020. The new date for trial is not yet known.
