PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania senators gathered in Philadelphia to honor the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday during a ceremonial State Senate session. Senator Gene Yaw joined lawmakers, students, and state leaders at the National Constitution Center for the historic gathering.
Officials say the event highlighted Pennsylvania’s role in America’s founding and encouraged younger generations to carry forward the nation’s values. Yaw attended with Montoursville Area High School senior Bailey Ulmer as part of the America250PA Civic Learning Initiative.
During the ceremony, Yaw also introduced a resolution honoring The United States Army Field Band. ’s meeting marked only the fourth Senate session held outside Harrisburg in 100 years.
