DANVILLE — Hospitals across the state are receiving millions in delayed FEMA reimbursements tied to expenses from the COVID-19 pandemic. Federal officials say the funding package totals $600 million for hospitals and healthcare systems across the state.
Geisinger is expected to receive more than $190 million. Officials say WellSpan will receive about $1.8 million. The funding is intended to reimburse hospitals for emergency protective measures and other costs tied to the public health emergency. US Congressman Dan Meuser urged the federal government to release the funds.
