BLOOMSBURG — A massive apartment fire in Bloomsburg displaced 16 people Sunday night after flames spread from a garage into connected buildings on West First Street. Bloomsburg Fire crews were dispatched just before 8pm. Firefighters battled flames in three connected structures and brought in water from the river during the complex response.
WPGM reports numerous fire and EMS units responded, including a dozen tankers. Officials say everyone escaped safely, although some heat-related issues were reported. Residents returned Monday to recover belongings after evacuating quickly during the fire. State police fire marshals are investigating the cause.
