HUMMELS WHARF — A Carlisle man died morning in a crash on the Old Trail near Shamokin Dam. State police say 66-year-old Keith Kmetz was driving north on South Old Trail around 7am. Troopers say his truck went off the road, hit a pole, and overturned. The Snyder County Coroner pronounced Kmetz dead at the scene.
A passenger, Susan Kmetz of Wilkes-Barre, was taken Geisinger with what troopers suspected were serious injuries. Troopers say neither person was wearing a seatbelt. The Old Trail was closed for about three hours.
