SUNBURY —At least two people are displaced after a smoky, stubborn, three-alarm house fire evening in Sunbury. Northumberland County officials say crews were called just after 5pm to the 1000 block of Market Street. As volunteers were dispatched, there was word of ‘possible entrapment’ at the single-family home.
Officials say one resident was taken to the hospital and one firefighter was hurt. . It took volunteers over an hour to bring the fire under control. Numerous regional fire companies responded and were involved in the fire fight or in a standby capacity. Market Street was blocked. The Red Cross was called to help the displaced residents. No word on the cause of the fire.
