WATSONTOWN — A Vietnam combat veteran whose ashes were anonymously left at Milton VFW Post 1665 will receive a burial with military honors. The Standard Journal is reporting…the Watsontown American Legion and Milton VFW are planning the service for 11am August 15 at Watsontown Cemetery.
Veterans officials say the urn was left with discharge papers and a note asking for help with burial. The veteran’s name will be released at the service.
Standard Journal reports the US Army veteran served in Vietnam, earned a Bronze Star Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge, and was honorably discharged. Organizers are not seeking donations, but they hope the community will attend.
