MOUNT CARMEL — A data center developer will meet with the public in Mount Carmel.
The Mount Carmel Township Data Center Team says they’ll hold a community open house , from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Coal Region Sports Complex. The developers are proposing a data center project in Mount Carmel Township that has drawn significant public opposition.
There will be no formal agenda, and visitors may arrive at any time. The developers say experts will discuss the various issues involved. Those topics include water and power needs, noise and vibration, environmental impacts, and mine reclamation.
Also, transportation, emergency response and what they say are a myriad of economic benefits. Residents and business owners from Mount Carmel, Kulpmont and Marion Heights are invited. The sports complex is at 558 West Saylor Street.
