CARLISLE — U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick says nearly $10 billion in new investment was announced at the Pennsylvania Defense and Innovation Summit.
Senator Dave McCormick and President Donald Trump said defense spending in Pennsylvania funding will support 4,000 jobs. The event at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle brought together defense, technology, finance, workforce, and university leaders.
Sen. McCormick says lots of money is pouring into our area: Bucknell University will partner with QE Manufacturing. Geisinger and Penn State separately have agreements with Voyager Technologies supporting defense research. Penn College will enjoy renewed support from BAE Systems for welding education and a defense-industry workforce pipeline.
President Donald Trump spoke of his accomplishments and Pennsylvania’s crucial role in the nation’s defense cannot be understated. He also used the opportunity to criticize Governor Josh Shapiro, saying, the governor, ‘Does not have what it takes’ to be governor.”
