STATE COLLEGE — Penn State trustees approved higher tuition and room costs for University Park students, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Freshmen and sophomores will pay $21,400 in tuition for 2027–28, an increase of $522. Room and board will rise 2.5 percent to $15,896 annually.
Trustees also awarded President Neeli Bendapudi a $210,000 performance bonus for the 2025–26 academic year. The bonus equals 15 percent of her $1.4 million base salary; the maximum allowed under her contract. The Inquirer reports Bendapudi’s total compensation for 2025–26 was $2.8 million.
