NORTHUMBERLAND — A Sunbury man died early in a motorcycle crash along Route 147 in Point Township, Northumberland County. The Daily Item reports 31-year-old Jason Schaeffer was pronounced dead at the scene. Police responded near the Ridge Road/CSVT exit around 1:40am.
Investigators say Schaeffer was traveling south at high speed when his motorcycle struck a guide rail. Schaeffer lost control and suffered fatal injuries. No other vehicles were involved. The road was closed for about four-and-a-half hours during the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Point Township Police.
